Eric “Howlin’ Growlin” Allen
Watch Eric Allen rock-out to Texas bluesman Gary Clark Jr’s song Train Pulls In:
Eric Allen is a Los Angeles-based blues and folk-country acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter.
Eric is known for the authentic, soulful, and raspy sound that characterizes his original songs, which includes Tomcat Stroll, Crow Bout Sin, Black Water Buff, Cut n’ Roll Sweepin’ Blues, Workin’ on the Blues, and Rattlesnake Mama among many others. Eric has released two albums that each received high praise in US and UK blues magazines including Blues Blast, North Jersey Blues Sociey, Blues Matters, Blues in Britian, RnR Magazine, and FATEA Records. His 3rd album, Downtrodden & Long-tongue Liar’s Lounge, releases on September 12th and his 4th album, Road Lizard of Moseytown, will release in spring 2026. His songs convey stories of the road, hope, longing, prowlin’ wolves, tomcats, and aligators in Eric’s down-to-earth, world-weary style.
Eric Allen is a blues man and a road lizard in it’s truest sense. After growing-up legally-blind in his father’s Indiana country & western band, he earned a law degree, worked in a federal prison, served as faculty at an Ivy League law school, and worked in publishing in New York before GIVING IT ALL UP to pursue music full-time and backpack alone through 45 countries in Asia, east Africa, eastern Europe, and the Middle East. Since then, he has split time between Los Angeles and Asia while completing multiple successful tours in Asia. He is currently touring the UK before coming to the US, and Conroe!, to tell you his stories through his songs.
