Several events are happening around Greater Houston for the Fourth of July weekend, including Freedom Over Texas and the South County 4th of July parade.

Stars, Stripes & Swing
Margaritaville Lake Resort Lake Conroe is celebrating Independence Day with music by the Jazz Connection in the Del Lago Ballroom. Tickets must be reserved in advance. There is a waitlist for tickets. There will be a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m. over the lagoon.
Star Spangled Salute
One of the Cynthia Wood Mitchell Pavilion’s longest-standing traditions is back in celebration of America’s 250th anniversary. The Star-Spangled Salute is a free community event filled with patriotic music and memories on the lawn.

Red, White & Bloom
Families will be able to enjoy beautiful blooms and a fireworks show at McGovern Centennial Gardens with free treats, family-friendly activities, music, lawn games and more.
Veterans of Foreign Wars America’s 250th Anniversary
The Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion are hosting an event to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a live band, cornhole tournament, free hot dogs, silent auctions, door prizes and more.

South County 4th of July Parade
The 50th annual South County 4th of July Parade will celebrate the holiday with patriotic performances and the traditional cannon salutes by Rolling Thunder. The event will also include celebrity parade judges who will select winners within 10 award categories based on creativity and craftsmanship. This year’s event theme is “America250 – Come Join the Celebration.”

Red, Hot & Blue Festival
The Red, Hot & Blue Festival will celebrate freedom through food and live music across multiple locations for one of the biggest fireworks and drone displays in the Greater Houston area. Festival activities vary by location, according to the website.

The Woodlands Resort Independence Day Celebration
The Woodlands Resort is celebrating Independence Day by starting the morning with a goat yoga class in partnership with LTD Farms. The class is open to resort guests and the public. The resort will also host a celebration that evening with live music, games, activities and barbecue.

Freedom Over Texas
The 39th annual Freedom Over Texas festival will take place at Eleanor Tinsley Park on the Fourth of July. The event will feature headliner country music artist Keith Urban with supporting acts Collective Soul and Los Lonely Boys. There will be food and entertainment leading up to the fireworks show finale to wrap up the celebration. Futbol Park is a new addition to FOT to celebrate nationwide excitement for soccer matches hosted in Houston this year.

Mambo Jazz Kings Performance
The Mambo Jazz Kings and Forrest Gibson & The Highway Men will be performing at a Fourth of July Celebration with food trucks and kids’ zone in Tomball. There will be a bounce house and water slide included in the activities.
