I know some readers are upset at my conversation with the Austin Insider, but I verified his personage and felt comfortable with the talk. And I’m not going to apologize for my Conservatism, born of Ronald Reagan, my personal observations of East Berlin Communism, Rush Limbaugh, and Donald Trump. But as I enjoyed an event this past week I was pelted with words saying I didn’t understand the GOP Establishment’s way of thinking. Well of course I didn’t understand their way of thinking. I don’t think it. I was expecting a call from a pelter on Sunday, but they never called, and since they never did, I’m letting this piece go and let it dovetail by nature, which will more than likely cause more consternation amongst the consternated, and result in another pelting.
I advise honesty to anyone who will listen, and to be truthful in regards to all of life’s aspects, and that entails the dealings of politics as well. Hey … come on man. If you are an elected official you should always be on your best behavior, at all times, in your private life as well as in public. What is so hard about that? What is so hard about doing the right thing?
But evidently, there are people whose arrogance takes a primary seat, and I’m the one pelted when I point out stuff that can easily be verified by a few keyboard punches and a mouse click. I’d be personally offended if I actually cared about what they said. Of course, I don’t. lol.
Look at President Donald Trump, and his relationship with the press. He seeks them out; in fact his Press Secretary has bigger balls than all Democrat men combined, and even some just right of center Republicans, and she is expecting her second child. With 47, he’s an open book, a lifetime spent for preparation in anticipation of being President one day. And yes, he is not perfect, but the Democrats and their leftist media have tried everything in the dirty tricks underhanded bag to derail the man, and in the mix the Democrats own brand is so damaged that they have a 2028 problem. No clear frontrunner to lead them into the future. AOC polls at just 10%, and if that’s the best you got, they do have a problem. When it comes to Montgomery County, we have a divide in the Republican Party, and some can describe it as a Civil War of MAGA Conservatives vs. the GOP Establishment, quite literally from some of the words that I’ve heard.
Trump is the most investigated man in modern history, and still he stands despite the allegations hurled this way and that, but in Montgomery County, some of our elected officials have faced judgements not only at the County Executive Committee level, but in actual courts of law. Former County Judge Alan Sadler was arrested for DWI in March 2009 following a minor traffic incident in Conroe. He was prosecuted by former District Attorney and current GOP Candidate Senate District 4, Brett Ligon, and with the combination of alcohol well below .08, but when mixed with a valid Schedule IV barbiturate Rx, it made for a bad combination, and as the freshly installed DA at the time, Ligon was true to his commitment and Sadler was lightly sentenced, going on to serve as County Judge until 2015.
Even Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough faced his own DWI challenge in 2020, when the sleep related drug Ambien, impaired his driving in The Woodlands, and he side swiped a vehicle, then totalled a Constables duty SUV, while making his own Lexus SUV a large and expensive paper weight as a result of the rear end job. Generally, both Sadler’s and Keough’s sentences were slaps on the wrists for bad judgement.
But there is another case that bewilders the mind, in reference to a civil court case filed on October 13th in Harris County’s 129th Civil Court, that would deter some from running for another term, and think serious thoughts of taking on retirement. I’m not going to say the name of the defendant, as it may well get me another pelting, but I’m used to being in the hospital. And if I should wind up unalive in a back alley somewhere or if something unusual happens about me, be forewarned that heavy manila envelopes with documents held in secret locations (Austin and Dallas), will be triggered for distribution upon any unexpected absence, incident, or expiration of myself not related to my medical history, and the revelation will blow the doors off of Montgomery County lore dating back to the 1960s with at least one unalived female coupled with high profile names, up through the decades to today’s mischief. So whoever takes offense to my piece, remember the pelter didn’t call, which could have totally changed the outcome of this piece. Also, you might want to pray for my good health. It’s insurance quite simply to keep everyone within their lines, because I don’t take kindly to threats.
So why the assertion then? Well, in my thinking, I get into the minds of opponents, thinking like them. In many cases it’s Democrats, and when finished I have to wash my brain with soap after the practice. But in this case. And it gets me to wondering, if this GOP candidate wins their primary, the Democrats can raise a big stink of an October Surprise in reference to allegations that Wayne Dolcefino himself has investigated writing a stinging piece along with an interview if memory serves. The Courier of MC has not broached the subject, but its big brother the Houston Chronicle has. I’m personally allegedly embarrassed for the person, and in Montgomery County, most citizens know nothing of the issue. 99.9% in fact. And for any person in the public eye in government service in Montgomery County, constituents have a right to know any alleged wrongdoings in which incumbents are being assessed. Not to mention if those allegations warrant further investigation.
The intention here is to avoid an October Trainwreck, because I’m already anticipating a January collision, with the title of anticipated column “I Told You So.” If I were a Democrat, and I’ve never been one, but if I were one, the target would be the GOP nominee of this office. And I would imagine Democrat support formulating from outside Montgomery County to cause as much havoc as possible. It probably won’t result in a win for the Dems, but the embarrassment factor will be there, and an embarrassed GOP electorate is not a good look for MC.
“President Theodore Roosevelt stated, ‘no man is above the law, and no man is below it; nor do we ask any man’s permission when we ask him to obey it,’ wrote the Montgomery County District Attorney’s office in December 2020. I’ve written about Consequences to Actions many times in regards to Democrats, but the statement applies to Republicans as well, whether you are Republican Establishment or MAGA.
The frustrating thing is in the days of #MeToo, where the lessons were learned by many Democrats, evidently some Republicans got the feeling that they are allegedly exempt from the practice. And the feeling that we are from some GOP backwater county, with a fawning or neglectful media, and consequences to actions can be overlooked. Well, that’s not the case, not anymore. Montgomery County means something across the state, and wobbly leadership is not the facade we should be projecting.
From the allegations of the plaintiff in the civil case, and their confidence to file a suit that can be harmful to a campaign just before the primaries, there may be merit to their case or not. It’s only for a jury or judge to decide. But what I’ve seen from other media outlets outside of MC, note the smoke could possibly be legitimate. Just saying. Everything is still alleged. All of what I’ve mentioned is out there, with actual court dates set for March 23rd and April 27th, which of course are after the primaries.
Also, this past weekend, I got word of a recent Republican Party of Montgomery County Executive Committee meeting, where there was an effort by a GOP Establishment Precinct Chair to uncensor our HD 16 State Rep. The idea was put forth by the challenger to the County GOP Chair in the upcoming primary. Of course the effort was allegedly laughed out of the house. Thankfully, at the GOP grass roots level, MAGA is winning. But really, to uncensor? It’s like one of the newborns from those AI videos I watch for humor with the baby saying, “my parents are crazy, put me back in a sane woman’s womb.” It’s not possible.
As I wrote last week, it again gives me no pleasure to write this. Transparency must rule. Trust in elected leaders should be a given, not a roll of the dice. Assumptions over given grandeurs are being challenged now, and it’s gonna be a hard pill to swallow if it all pans out. It takes a certain determination to even bring this to the forefront, I mean, because a person of a lesser will would be scared to death. For me it’s old hat, I’ve been shot at, almost bombed, felt the pressure of an explosion, had my guts shown to me multiple times on the operating table. I’ve had experiences that if I didn’t have the pictures would be hard to explain. I will fight for truth, I have fought for truth. That is what drives me, and it’s what we should all strive for in every elected official who represents Montgomery County.
