Several cities are taking the initiative to plant Liberty Trees in their cities on the day that Patrick Henry talked for over three hours in the Virginia Statehouse, ending his speech with “Give me Liberty or Give me Death!”

The America 250 Committee of Montgomery County planted a tree last March 18th on the date of Patrick Henry’s speech 250 years ago on the grounds of the Heritage Museum in Candy Cane Park. March 18, 2026 will be 250 years ago as America is counting down the time as our forefathers were openly fighting and then formally declared our Independence from Great Britain on July 4, 1776.

Governmental entities are preparing Proclamations urging the Public to celebrate our Country’s upcoming 250th Anniversary of our Independence. The City of Montgomery started the march of Proclamations with Oak Ridge North and then Panorama Village. The Woodlands Township will issue its Proclamation at its December 4th meeting with the Sons of the American Revolution in their Colonial Regalia accepting the Proclamation.
