Local governments are getting into the spirit of the approaching 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Proclamations have been provided from the cities of Montgomery, Oak Ridge North, and Panorama Village citing the significance of this historical anniversary. These Proclamations acknowledge our country’s history and the immense sacrifices those colonists went through to obtain their liberty and freedom from Great Britain which was the mightiest military power at that time. Representatives from the Sons of the American Revolution in their Colonial regalia attend these meetings to provide “color” in the ceremony associated with each Proclamation.
Proclamations from the City of Shenandoah and The Woodlands Township along with Montgomery County Commissioner’s Court are forthcoming during the first weeks of December. It is definitely something to celebrate about.
