The DOUG and ELAINE COLLINGS FAMILY CONFEDERATE ARTIFACTS are on loan and displayed at the Montgomery County Main Library, in the Genealogy Room, for “April is Confederate History Month”. Three of their history treasurers are shown above on easels amongst the Civil War Books on display from the Genealogy Room, and many are due to the generosity of the Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, which have been provided for in their many donations to this marvelous Genealogy Room. The COLLINGS have brought their other Confederate treasurers in the past and arranged multiple displays for the Montgomery County Main Library, The Stewart Library, and The Margaret Mitchell Library in The Woodlands.
The first large framed and matted artifact in black and white is pictured above of the authentic Confederate Loan Vouchers (unused),and was found and purchased many years ago in an Antique Shop by the COLLINGS. Amazing to ponder. Then, the largest in the center is an framed authentic center-fold from an early Atlas on the Official Military Uniforms of the Civil War, which was recently purchased by ELAINE COLLINGS in Silent Auction at a Texas Division District 111 Meeting, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. The third framed display on easel is replicas of all the Confederate Bills of currency, and a center with SteamBoat History. ELAINE was the proud high bidder at a past TX Division Convention Auction which came from their Archives collection.

On this day, The COLLINGS Family also contributed 12 Volumes of the “Bulwer’s Works” The Works of Edward Bulwer Lytton, which were compiled and published by P.F. Collier New York, and “Thackeray Works” The Works of William Makepeace Thackeray, which were compiled and published by P.F. Collier New York.
This COLLINGS donation was done in the name of the Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter, of the UDC, for their continued support in the “UDC Southern Literature and Arts”.
Additionally, if all this above from the COLLINGS weren’t enough:
for the “Protection of History”, the COLLINGS delivered all their Family Trees from both sides of their Family, and all it’s information that qualified them for their many multiples of Genealogy and Lineage Organizations along with their “Proofs” and Documents, that they both belong to. This was a bitter-sweet moment in letting go of all those years of research and expense, but now in good hands to help future researchers for generations to come.

DOUG COLLINGS is the 1st Honorary Associate Member of the Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter, and was presented and passed by Chapter acclamation. He has never quit helping the Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter in spite of all his own Genealogy and Lineage Organizations he belongs to. ELAINE HAMLIN COLLINGS was Founder/Organizing President and served two terms, as she has also given service as TX Division UDC Officer, and various TX Div. Chairmen, while continuing to serve on her Chapter’s Board and several major committees. Her Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter remains her top dedication in her UDC interests. “Chapters First”, Elaine says, as strong roots will grow a magnificent Tree! This has proven to be so for the Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy.
