The Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, traveled to Waco to participate in their Texas Division Forum, with the largest numbers of any Chapter attending! Their attendance was notable as is their RJOA Spirit, Grace, Generosities, and Enthusiasms!! On this very cold day, a side trip was made to the Famous old Historic Cemetery in Waco, in search to Honor the valiant Soldiers who fought for the Confederacy.
Bundled up in furs, hats, and gloves, the RJOA Belles found many-many markers and monuments, stopping to read each one, and said silent prayers of respect at all. It is all quite emotional and larger than one’s self.
Exploring our History instills a special sense of worth and purpose to each person who honors their Family History.
The Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter calls the Names of ALL their Confederate Family Soldiers out loud in respect at each of their Formal meetings in their “Ancestor’s Roll Call”. Some members have many and some may have only “proved” only one, But ALL are Important to have their Name said in remembrance, and “our Duty to Do so”!
This Photo shows RJOA Members standing at the Headstone of CSA Brigadear General HOOD, of Hood’s Texas Brigade. He is only one amongst the many valiant soldiers buried there, and special to the families of several members in the Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter.
~APRIL IS CONFEDERATE HISTORY MONTH~, but every Month and every Day we should give our gratitude to those who came before us, and remember their Names as we hand down our Family History to educate our children for the generations to come. ALL History is important because it happened! Let us Learn and Educate, Tell the Truth , as we pay Homage to those who came before us, for we Never walked in their shoes, nor faced what they did. We can only imagine, but still can’t possibly feel every feeling they did for the decisions they had to make.
Nor can Hollywood tell us: in how they portray our History, nor in the Politics of today’s times.
+ MAY GOD GIVE ALL AMERICANS COURAGE AND GRACE IN WHAT WE FACE IN TODAYS TIMES, AND THRU THIS EASTER SEASON, TO RECONCILE AND UNITE ALL FAMILIES IN THE WORLD….IN PRAYER AND GRATITUDE.
