Being Mediocre Never Felt So Good; Texans Win Two in a Row Towering over the Titans in the Closing Seconds 16-13
“Texans’ linebacker Will Anderson had another big game with a sack and fumble recovery that contributed to their victory 16-13 over the Tennessee Titans.”

Nashville, Tennessee:
The Houston Texans traveled to Tennessee to take on the former Houston Oilers and now the Tennessee Titans. It has always been a very physical contest. Texans fans braced themselves as on the first series of downs, the Texans missed a field goal, but the series was saved with a Titans’ penalty, and they marched down to the one (1) yard line, and a terrible play was called for Davis Mills to throw the ball and was sacked. They could not find the end zone until the second half when Nico Collins came alive making three (3) outstanding receptions including a touchdown grab to put his team in the lead for the first time 7-6.
It was an entertaining second half, as the Tennessee Titans broke out of their complacency and challenged the Houston Texans in the closing minutes of the fourth quarter. Titans’ rookie quarterback Cameron Ward scrambled for a first down and connected on a perfect strike to wide receiver Van Jefferson. The Titans punched in on a short pass tying the Texas 13-13 with less than two (2) minutes to go. However, Davis Mills was as cool as a cucumber with his talented cast of Marks, Collins, and Wright. Davis connected with wide receiver Nico Collin, who had nine (9) receptions for ninety-two (92) yards and a touchdown along with outstanding runs by Jo’quavious Marks, he had eighteen (18) carries for forty-four (44) yards. Davis Mills made the most important pass of the season converting a third (3rd) and sixteen (16) completion to Collins to keep their last drive alive. Mills drove his team down the field to set up the last second thirty-five (35) yard field goal by second string place kicker Matthew Wright to save the day as the Texans get back to 500% with a (5-5) record.
The Texan’s defense was formidable with Myles Bryant leading the defense with four (4) solo tackles and four (4) assists, but it was Linebacker Will Anderson who had a sack, strip, and fumble recovery.
I am extremely happy that the Texans rose to the occasion and beat their divisional rival; however, let us not lose sight that the Tennessee Titans have the worst record in the NFL at 1-9. The team can build on their success since their next three games will be against division contenders.
In other AFC South divisional action, the (8-2) Indianapolis Colts lead the division, and the team had a bye, but the (6-4) Jacksonville Jaguars clobbered the (7-4) LA Chargers 35-6.
