The Board of Conroe Founder’s Day Organization met in preparations for the upcoming CONROE FOUNDER’S DAY Celebration Event to be held February 19, 2026, at Conroe Founder’s Plaza in Downtown Conroe, on the corner and next to the Owen Theater.
The Event starts at 4:00PM and will run approximately 1 hour as the Ceremony will honor City & State Leaders, Isaac Conroe Descendants, The History of Isaac Conroe, Period Dress Style Show, Honors bestowed: the Conroe Citizen of the Year Award, & Like-Time Achievement Award, and Favors from the Conroe Founder’s Day Board to Attendees! = ALL in True TEXAS SPIRIT!
This annual Celebration has changed from the Isaac Conroe Homestead on Ave. A & 1st Street, and now will be held at the Conroe Founder’s Plaza, where there is more room for Attendance and CELEBRATING! The CFD Board still requests that you drive by the original Isaac Conroe Home where State Markers are in the yard on the corner, and “Know The History of Your City”, and where it’s located.
Conroe Founder’s Day Board was Organized and Founded in 2018 by Charter President & Mistress of Ceremonies & Sculptress: Lyn Hawthorne Howard.
The Board consists of: Charter Secretary, & Chairman of the Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 UDC Docents, Ch. of Style Show, & Ch: of Genealogy & Historical Societies, & Publicity: Elaine Hamlin Collings. Charter Officer, current Treasurer, & Ch. of Citizen of the Year Contest: De’Andre Guin, Sr. Charter Officer, & Programs, & Publicity: Margie Taylor. Charter Officer/& current Assoc. Board Mbr., Grants & Website: Rebecca Smith Nash. City Liaison: Janeen McSwain. Councilwoman & City Liaison: Shana Arthur.
