The population in the Conroe and Montgomery area is growing and becoming more diverse, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.

On Jan. 29, the U.S. Census Bureau released new five-year data for 2024 as part of its American Community Survey, which represents a five-year estimate of the population across the country from 2020 to 2024. This data compares with the 2019 survey results, which studied the country from 2015 to 2019.

Diving in deeper

In all eight Conroe and Montgomery area ZIP codes, the median household income increased between 2019 and 2024, according to the U.S. Census data. ZIP code 77318 saw the largest percentage increase of 50.5% as the median household income rose from $61,392 to $92,415. Meanwhile, 77316 had the highest median household income in 2024 at $124,055.

What else?

When it comes to educational attainment, the percentage of Conroe and Montgomery residents 25 years or older who are high school graduates or higher rose from 83.2% to 88% between 2019 and 2024, according to the U.S. Census data.

Additionally, the percentage of residents 25 years and older who earned a bachelor’s degree or higher also increased, growing from 24.7% to 33.1%.
