Let’s Go Lions! It’s always a great week to be a Conroe Noon Lion, and this week was a great example of why Lions love being Lions!
Our Golf Tournament last week was an ACE! The course was wonderful, the golf was fun, and the volunteers definitely brought their A-game.  A special THANKS to ALL the partners, golfers, donors, and Lions!

President Tracy gave us the results of the big day. There were two flights participating with the top winners in the First Flight – 1st Place was the Stoecker Corporation, 2nd Place was Vera Bank, and 3rd Place was Cashner Funeral Home. Bringing up Dead Ass Last honors was Rob Hamilton and his team. The winners of the Second Flight – 1st Place was the Woolhouse foursome, 2nd Place was Woodforest Wealth, and 3rd Place was the Tracy & Charlie Irvine foursome lead by their son Bret. The Color Interiors team with the highest score took home the Dead Ass Last award for the PM flight.

Lion Steve Wohlschlaeger handed out designer bandanas to promote the Lions endeavor to increase membership numbers for CNLC to become the largest Club in the state again! You may see these bright blue bandanas around town, sported by Lions on the prowl to recruit more members!
Lions’ most recent Service Saturday was June 20th. Member volunteers gathered to help several local families beat the Texas heat by installing window AC units. Lions are always cool and especially when helping those in need!

To whine down our annual Community Partners program we will host our Partners’ Appreciation Day – ‘OLE! This Wednesday, June 24 – during our regular Conroe Noon Lions luncheon. Every heard of the ‘Enchilada Entrepreneur’? Well, here’s your chance to meet him as keynote speaker – Russell Ybarra, the CEO and founder of Gringo’s as he makes his way to our meeting.  It promises to be an exciting and spicy program.
To celebrate this terrific Conroe Noon Lions year, get your ‘Game On and Level Up’ at our Annual Installation Banquet.  Join us at River Plantation Golf Club on June 26th at 6:30! Big surprises come as we announce “Lion & Rookie of the Year” awards, along with giving some love to our outgoing officers and installing our incoming officers for the 2026-27 Lions year. It’s going to be Rad!

Our program last week recognized those Committee members who have worked year-round, taking CNLC to the next LEVEL.  These committees ranged from our Membership Committees to our outstanding Vision Programs, along with youth projects including scholarships, the Adopt-A-School Reaves Elementary, and our community Conroe Leo Club.  All these projects take dedicated and passionate members who organize and spend countless hours making our club and this community a better place. A big THANKS to each and every one!

PLUS – we’ve finally received our Monarch Awards for years of service from Lions Clubs International.  There were 18 club members who had anniversaries this past year, these tenure awards are presented beginning at 10 years and then in 5 year increments.  These members represented 415 years of service, amazing!  Four members were interviewed by our ‘roving reporter’, Past President Warner Phelps; those were Lions Bill McGraw (30 years), C. Pat Davis (45 years), Pat Brennan (50 years), and Rolf Lippke (55years).  We enjoyed listening to the stories of past meeting places, fund raisers, events, with a few laughs thrown in for fun.   It’s because of wonderful members like these we’re able to call ourselves ‘the greatest Lions club in the world.’
