I had a recent conversation with a closet Democrat who trusts me enough not to publicly reveal her preferred political line. She is in a position in society where if it were revealed, people might think differently of her, and I understand she doesn’t want to risk that. We occasionally meet up and chat, not necessarily on politics, but on other topics, but as we got up and made our way to our vehicles in our last meeting, the conversation switched to politics, and she suddenly admitted she was a Democrat, which took me aback for a second before I recovered. I had never known her to be political. She knows of my writing and has never commented on it, so I counted her in the right of center column. And there is no indication in regards to her way of political thought. No fancy car with a ‘Resist’ decal on the back; well, she does have a fancy car. No blue hair, no apparent attendance at No Kings rallies, in fact she calls a Democrat gathering in downtown Conroe, three leftists in a phone booth; so there is a sense of humor there.
My friend just doesn’t show the usual indicators that Dems show to display their offense when they are shut out of voicing their opinion. There is a patience and responsibility about her, and unless she tells you, it would be difficult to detect any left of center tells about her. Her profession may be a hint, but it’s not a shoe-in, she has a multiple degree but I wouldn’t call her an idiot. If we were in the Cold War Era I might suspect her of being a Soviet KGB sleeper agent, who would have gone dark since Christmas 1991, when the Soviet government fell. There might be just too much perfection there.
On issues there is not that much difference between us. She is supportive of taking out evil dictators because she recognizes their capabilities of deploying terrible weapons across The World. Of course she was supportive of women having the right to rule their bodies, the consequence of abortion, but I didn’t press her on the action of the act of impregnation itself. Plus we had some differences on the border as well, but in my initial assessment I would have rated her an Independent voter.
I then asked her about President Trump, and that’s when our conversation deepened to its true essence. She was upset with 47’s words. Ah, now we were getting to the crux of the problem. And I’ve no doubt she considers herself a True Patriot of which I wholeheartedly agree. She’s done extraordinary things to honor America and even Texas, and I bow down and honor her service. I tried to explain my thoughts on Trump and his statements, and why I mostly agree with it, but his actions are what I look at. Iran. Check. Venezuela. Check. But I had a suspicion she was taking Trump’s words too literally, and for many on the left they have a mindset that if their Superego is offended, they hold onto that grudge and harbor feelings that are long lasting against a person or idea that is potentially harmful to physical health.
Now you understand the mindset of the White Democrat No-Kings protesters, and the inability of their Ego to recognize their Superego’s arrogance for punishment, and the inability to forgive. Essentially they’re their own vengeful God willing to deliver extreme suffering to those who do not pledge their adoration and acclamations to their proclaimed projection. Look at Socialist Hollywood where less than 20% of the population paid them homage on Oscar Night, which has turned into a pukefest of Socialist political rants that the American public can’t stomach anymore.
I advised my friend to disassociate Trump’s words with her personal thoughts. I told her of my practice of not caring what people said or thought about me, especially in my opinion columns whether they are Republican or Democrat. No one, not even Trump lives rent free in my mind, and I told her the same. Now whether my friend takes my advice is up to her. Most Democrats are gluttons for punishment, and cannot determine the final result of a situation or issue until anchors are fired at CNN, or they lose a primary.
In Montgomery County, my words can be sharp, and daggerlike, for those that draw my ire. But I really love to write about things I love, Art, Music, Food, Drink, Family, giving to those less fortunate, and Education amongst other things. I don’t harbor any ill will towards anyone who doesn’t like my words in my right to free speech, and I expect the same as a counter. We can all say what we want within reason, but for a number of people they will hold on to those words and ideas even unto personal or career destruction.
Don’t let anyone’s errant words control your dark side. Don’t let those words control your hate. Forgive, move on, and live a more powerful life in the light.
