Officials said construction was underway at a condominium complex in the Walden subdivision along Poe Drive near Walden Road when the fire broke out.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Firefighters worked to control a fire in Montgomery County near Lake Conroe on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Montgomery County Fire Marshal’s Office, the fire was reported at a condominium complex in the Walden subdivision on Poe Drive near Walden Road. Investigators with the Fire Marshal’s Office were on scene.
Officials said construction work was underway at the time of the fire. One construction worker was transported to a hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation.
The fire was burning between the first and second floors of the condo, an area officials said was difficult to access. Due to these challenges, crews called a second alarm to bring in additional firefighting units.
The cause of the fire has not yet been released. KHOU 11 will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
