Dry conditions have led to an increased fire danger across Southeast Texas.
MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Fire crews have contained a large grass in East Montgomery County as burn bans remain in effect across the region.
According to Montgomery County Homeland Security and Emergency Management, the fire was burning in the Village Way area. Multiple agencies responded, and officials provided logistical support, including rehab services and drone operations.
The fire burned around 35 acres and reportedly started by a piece of hay bailing equipment.
Residents were being asked to stay away from the area as crews worked to contain the flames. The fire comes as Montgomery County and several other Houston-area counties are under burn bans due to dry conditions, increasing the risk of rapid fire spread.
