A crash on FM 1484 has claimed two lives and injured another.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Texas — Two people were killed and another was injured Tuesday after a head‑on crash involving three pickup trucks on FM 1484 just south of Airport Road, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Sgt. Aftosmes with DPS said the crash remains under investigation, and state crash reconstruction teams are working to determine what caused the wreck.

According to investigators, a Ford F‑150 Platinum was traveling southbound on FM 1484 when, for reasons still unclear, it crossed into the northbound lanes. The truck then collided head‑on with a northbound black Ford F‑150. A third vehicle, a Chevrolet pickup, was also heading north and struck one of the trucks involved in the initial crash.

The drivers of both Ford trucks were pronounced dead at the scene, Sgt. Aftosmes said. Their identities are being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

A passenger in the northbound Ford F‑150 was taken to a hospital with injuries. Their condition has not yet been released.

The driver of the Chevrolet pickup was not injured and is cooperating with investigators.
