Honoring our Veterans
at the New Montgomery Cemetery
The Freedom Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution presented our annual Wreaths Across America ceremony to honor our veterans at the New Montgomery cemetery. We had cool temperatures and a great turn-out for this event. We would like to thank our sponsors and our volunteers that contributed to making this a huge success.
The mission is of Wreaths Across America is to REMEMBER the fallen, HONOR those that serve and their families, and TEACH the next generation the value of freedom!
Quoting our 40th US President, Ronald Reagan, “Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction. We do not pass it on in the bloodstream. It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for them to do the same or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children or our children’s children what it was once like where men were free.”
We didn’t just decorate some veteran’s gravesite for Christmas, and we didn’t mark them to mark the end of their life but to celebrate the life of that veteran. The wreath is a gift of appreciation from a grateful nation
