HOUSTON — ‘ICE Out’ protests were taking place around the country over Immigration and Customs Enforcement actions, including in our area.
Across the country, tens of thousands of protesters were expected to take to the streets in response to the killings of Alex Pretti and Renee Good by federal law enforcement agents. Organizers of ICE protests on Friday urged people to avoid participating in work, school and shopping to send a message to lawmakers to stop funding ICE.
Air 11 was over Conroe High School, where KHOU 11 received tips of a planned walkout that was to take place a little after 1 p.m. When the chopper arrived, roughly 200 people were seen outside the school walking with signs.
Another Houston-area protest was scheduled for the Immigrant Processing Center near Bush Airport.
