The Innovation Space at the Kevin Brady Library and Community Center is holding a grand opening Feb. 19, officials confirmed.

“We are excited to open this brand new Innovation Space to the community at the Kevin Brady Library, our first stop of the Innovate@MCMLS initiative,” Library Executive Director Janna Hoglund said. “It is an opportunity for all ages to experience new technology as they imagine and create.”

What to know

The Innovation Space includes a podcast studio that features a digital mixer, professional-grade microphones, individual control panels as well as editing software provided by Howard Hughes Communities. The area also includes a Maker Space with a collaborative environment for hands-on creation, experimentation and design provided by Vogt Engineering, according to a news release.

“The grand opening of the Innovation Space at Kevin Brady Library is very beneficial for our community,” Precinct 3 Commissioner Ritch Wheeler said. “The Space offers multiple opportunities for everyone to create, invent, and build new skills.”

Orientation sessions will begin Feb. 9 for visitors including instructions and guidelines on how to utilize the Studio’s and Maker Space’s equipment. A grand opening event will take place at 1:30 p.m. Feb. 19, including a welcome address, ribbon cutting and cake.
