Investigators spent 12 hours searching a Porter home possibly linked to the Angleton shooting, where children were killed and injured.
BRAZORIA COUNTY, Texas — Investigators spent much of Saturday searching a home in Porter that officials say may be connected to the deadly shooting in Angleton that left two children dead and two others injured.
KHOU 11’s Orko Manna was at the scene and spoke exclusively with the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, which confirmed that investigators spent several hours at the home before leaving around 8 p.m.
Crime scene tape surrounded the house as detectives and investigators, wearing blue gloves and carrying what appeared to be evidence bags, entered and exited the property throughout the day. A car parked in the driveway was also towed from the scene later that evening.
The Montgomery County D.A.’s Office said multiple agencies were involved in the investigation at the home, including the Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office and the Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office.
Neighbors told KHOU 11 they started seeing law enforcement around 8 a.m. and noticed crime scene unit vehicles parked outside.
First Assistant District Attorney Mike Holley confirmed investigators are still trying to determine the home’s possible link to the Angleton shooting.
“We can’t say that [it’s connected],” Holley said. “We believe that it may be linked. We’re trying to determine that now. It’s an active investigation.”
Holley added that investigators had “received reports of injuries maybe connected to this residence,” but said they aren’t releasing more details yet.
Officials said they want to be careful not to interfere with the ongoing investigation into the Angleton shooting. As of Saturday night, authorities have not released additional details about what evidence, if any, was recovered from the Porter home.
