On March 7, 2026, members of the Thomas Jefferson Stubbs 2523, Conroe Chapter, Texas Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy, met for their monthly meeting. It was a joyous day for the chapter, as a brand new member was installed, one member
received her 10 year continuous membership pin and one member received her 25 year pin.
Delise Henry received on new membership certificate on her Confederate ancestor, John Alexander Fenlaw, who was a Private in Co. G 17th Regiment Texas Cavalry CSA. He was born on August 15, 1840 in Virginia, died on January 6, 1916 and is buried in the Gilmer City Cemetery, Upshur County, Texas. He was married to Bertha A. Fenlaw. Mrs. Henry is the chairman for Southern Arts and Literature Committee for the Stubbs chapter and has already shown great interest with everything concerning the UDC.
Debbie Chance received her 10 year membership pin, her primary ancestor into the UDC was, Pvt. Cyprien Derise, who was with Co. C 8th Regiment Louisiana Infantry. He is buried in Rayne, Acadia Parish, Louisiana.
Eva Rains received her 25 year membership pin, her primary ancestor into the UDC was, Pvt. John Caldwell Calhoun, who was with Co I 28th Gray’s Regiment Louisiana Infantry. He is buried in the Prairie Grove Cemetery in Angelina County, Texas.
On the far right of the picture is Carolyn Jamail, she serves the chapter as their Vice President and is in her 35th year of membership in the Texas Division, UDC. The Stubbs chapter was chartered in October of 1986 and will celebrate their 40th anniversary this year.
