Incumbents Mark Keough and Charlie Riley are still the front-runners in the Republican primary races for Montgomery County judge and Precinct 2 commissioner, respectively, with 89 of 121 election day precincts reporting, according to unofficial voting results from Montgomery County Elections.
Keough leads by 1.8% for Montgomery County judge with 34,096 votes, or 50.9%, over challenger Wayne Mack with 32,896 votes, or 49.1%. Riley leads 9.8% with 11,971 votes, or 54.12%, over challenger Bob Harvey with 10,148 votes, or 45.88%

Incumbents Mark Keough and Charlie Riley are leading in the Republican primary races for Montgomery County judge and Precinct 2 commissioner, respectively, according to unofficial early voting results from Montgomery County Elections.
Keough leads by 0.82% for Montgomery County judge with 23,807 votes, or 50.41%, over challenger Wayne Mack with 23,424 votes, or 49.59%. Riley leads 9.8% with 8,627 votes, or 54.90%, over challenger Bob Harvey with 7,086 votes, or 45.10%.
What we know
Montgomery County voters cast 70,559 ballots during early voting, according to county election data. Of those ballots, 51,393 were cast in the Republican primary and 19,166 were cast in the Democratic primary, per county election data.
Some context
The county judge serves as the presiding officer of Montgomery County Commissioners Court, overseeing county operations and working with commissioners to approve budgets, infrastructure projects and policy decisions.
Keough was first elected Montgomery County judge in 2018 and took office Jan. 1, 2019, according to the county website. Before that, he served two terms representing House District 15 in the Texas House during the 84th and 85th legislative sessions. Keough began his second term as county judge in 2023.
Mack has served as justice of the peace for Montgomery County Precinct 1 since 2014, as previously reported. He was appointed to the role in May 2014 and later won election that November, and will have served about 12 years by the end of his current term.
The Precinct 2 commissioner represents a large portion of west Montgomery County and is responsible for county road and bridge projects, precinct-level infrastructure and constituent services.
Riley has represented Precinct 2 since 2015 after previously working 14 years as the precinct’s operations manager, according to his website.
Harvey is also running for the seat, with experience in the oil and gas industry as a leader of international projects and managing substantial operational budgets, per his website.

Totals from ballots cast on election day have not yet been released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at that time were still able to cast ballots.
