The Freedom Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution is honored to have been chosen to participate and present the nation’s colors in a New Year’s kick-off of the America 250 Anniversary Celebration hosted by The Heritage Society of Houston.
The Freedom Chapter performed the Color Guard duties and had a great time working with some old friends, Los Granaderos y Damas de Galvez Houston and making new friends with The Houston Saengerbund, , and together with chapters of the DAR, Bernardo de Galvez Chapter SAR, General Philemon Thomas Chapter SAR of Baton Rouge, LA., the Shimmer Flute Choir, Boy’s and Girl Scouts of America, we enjoyed good times with everyone that participated!
We filmed material for an episode of “The Today Show” on NBC, which aired on January 2nd, 2026! The Today Show highlighted their segment about how America is celebrating its 250th Anniversary of becoming a nation! We have been planning activities and are excited to share our Texas connection to the American Revolution!
