Lake Conroe Centennial Lions Club held a General Meeting on Thursday, February 26th at Walden Yacht Club.
The meeting was called to order by President Katherine Maher followed by a prayer and pledges to the American Flag and the Texas Flag. Steve Jessen was then installed as a new member. Yea! A big Happy Birthday song was sung in honor of Bob Neilsen’s 29th (LOL!) birthday!
After the Secretary’s and Treasurer’s report, President Katherine reported that she delivered LCCLC’s donation of canned goods to the Coats of Many Colors organization.
Vice President Dot Anderson shared that scholarship applications have been given out to our high school LEO’s. The applications are due back to our club on March 25th. Three $1000 scholarships will be awarded.
Next, President Katherine proudfully presented many club members with various awards. Receiving commemorative bricks at the Texas Lions Camp in Kerrville were Roxie Germand (in honor of her husband), Gegi Reel (in honor of her father), Jeanne Greenburg and Vicki Migues. In addition, Art Drouin received a Jack Welch Award, and Shirley Abt was honored with a Texas Lions Camp Lifetime Achievement Award. Congratulations all of you!
The meeting closed with Bob Drucker winning the 50/50 pot.
