Lake Conroe Area Republican Women held their February General Meeting at Walden Yacht Club.  

President Sharyn Link called the meeting to order at 12 pm, followed by a prayer given by LCARW Chaplain Stacey Buick.  Traci Meyers then led us is the Pledge to the United States Flag with Sandy Nikirk leading us in the Pledge to the Texas Flag.  

The Treasurer’s Report and the Minutes of the previous meeting were approved followed by Stephanie Johnson recognizing the elected officials and candidates in attendance.

As a special treat, Judge Tracy Gilbert (418th District Court) gave all the ladies in attendance a long-stemmed red rose!  Thank you, Judge Gilbert, for spoiling us every year! 

Committee reports for Campaign Activities, Membership, Americanism, and Ways and Means were then given.  President Link continued by thanking longtime LCARW member and previous board member, Birgitta Groh, who will soon be returning to her home in Sweden.  Thank you, Birgitta, for all that you have done for our club.  You are awesome and will be missed!

Next up was LCARW VP – Programs, Megan Metcalf, who welcomed Susie Cintron, a member of Kingwood Republican Women and newly elected Texas Federation of Republican Women Secretary.  Susie shared her journey in TFRW and emphasized the importance of reporting volunteer hours to support the Federation’s impact.  

Then Megan introduced Guest Speaker, Constable Philip Cash, Precinct 1.  Constable Cash presented an overview of the Montgomery County Constable’s Office, highlighting their award-winning Mental Health Program, which provides crisis intervention and care 24/7.  This program has become a model for agencies nationwide, helping individuals receive appropriate care while allowing law enforcement to focus on other calls.  

Lake Conroe Area Republican Women’s March General Meeting will be held on Thursday, March 19 at noon at Walden Yacht Club. It will feature Guest Speaker Brandon Steinmann, Montgomery County Clerk.  For more information please go to https://lcarw.org
