Graduates of Lone Star College System‘s fall, spring and summer courses for the 2025-26 school year will receive diplomas at ceremonies to be held May 9-16, according to a May 4 news release from the college system.
The overview
Eleven graduation ceremonies will be held for LSCS’ Class of 2026 students, according to the release. Graduates will be receiving diplomas and certifications such as:
- Baccalaureate
- Associate
- Workforce and certificates
- GED completion
- Early College High School completion
“My LSCS experience has influenced me every day, shaping the person I am becoming and the future I am creating,” said Denise Thomas, a graduating LSC-Kingwood student, via the release. “This journey has taught me the power of resilience, perseverance, and the impact of mentorship.”
The celebrations
According to the release, LSCS’s 2025-26 commencements will be held in accordance with the following schedule:
LSC Spanish Commencement
Emmanuel Guerrero, a council member for the city of Pasadena, will give the commencement address, and LSCS Chancellor Mario K. Castillo will speak.
LSC-Houston North
State Rep. Charlene Ward Johnson will speak, and FOX 26 news anchor Anthony Antoine will give the commencement address.
LSC-CyFair
Graduations for LSC-Cy-Fair will be divided into two events: the first for graduates with last names beginning with A-L and the second for graduates with last names starting with M-Z. Martha Araujo-Barrera, H-E-B’s public affairs manager, will give the commencement address at the ceremony for A-L names. Nick Cusato, a LSC-CyFair alumnus, will give the commencement address for M-Z last names.
LSCS Baccalaureate Program
Lizeth Hernandez, the Harris County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management’s communications section supervisor, will give the commencement address.
LSC-University ParkLSC-Online
LSC-Online President Carlos R. Morales will present the commencement address.
LSC-Montgomery
LSCS government professor David Kennedy and assistant government professor Stephen Murphy will provide the commencement address.
LSC-North Harris
U.S. Rep. Christian Menefee will give the commencement address.
