Lone Star Family Health Center will expand medical and dental services to the Magnolia area in 2026 with support from a Tomball health organization.

CENTER EXPANSION: Conroe’s Lone Star Family Health Center dedicates new $11.4M expansion

Lone Star Family Health Center is a full-service, federally qualified health center and nonprofit dating to 2002. Medical, dental, women’s health and mental health services are provided through the facility.

In addition to the Conroe hub, services are offered across five clinic locations in Willis, Spring, Grangerland and Huntsville.

Lone Star Family Health Center has long been a leader in community-based health care with multiple locations across the region,” said Karen Harwell, CEO of Lone Star Family Health Center. “This new location in Magnolia reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to reducing health disparities and improving outcomes for the region’s most vulnerable populations.”

The new clinic is expected to open early next year.

A location has not been announced publicly as the a lease agreement is still being negotiated, said Courtney Galle, marketing and communications manager for Lone Star Family Health Center.

She could confirm that the new clinic would be near the traditional heart of the city of Magnolia, off FM 1488.

The clinic expects to serve about 2,900 patients a year at the new location.

GRANT UPDATE: Lone Star Family Health Center gets more than $1M in grants for cancer screenings, behavioral care

“The Magnolia area’s underserved and uninsured population is left without medical and dental services for that patient population,” Galle said. “We as an FQHC (federally qualified health center) can bridge that gap with our services.”

In August, the center dedicated a $11.4 million expansion of its Conroe headquarters at 605 S Conroe Medical Drive, adjacent to HCA Houston Healthcare Conroe hospital.

The 24,000-square-foot expansion includes more medical exam rooms, a dedicated mental-health suite, an expanded patient intake area, upstairs office space, additional pharmacy space and additional meeting and break room space for the staff.

At the dedication, Harwell spoke of how the expansion allows the center to broaden its reach in the community, such as the new Magnolia clinic.

The Tomball Regional Health Foundation is a community group assisting in the health and wellness needs of residents of the Tomball, Magnolia and surrounding areas.

“The Tomball Regional Health Foundation is excited to partner with Lone Star Family Health Center to bring exceptional medical and dental care to our friends in the Magnolia area,” said Jeffrey Klien, CEO, of the health foundation.
