This week’s Veteran is David Sweeten, who served in the U.S. Marines from 1983 – 1986. David was an Infantryman. He was stationed early on Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Washington state. For those who are ‘An Officer and a Gentleman,’ fans its the same base where the movie was filmed in the early 1980s. David’s duty was perimeter security as well as duty guarding an armory, which are very important jobs. Sweeten was a good Marine, and changed stations to the Marine Barracks in Washington, D.C. David also had duty stations in Okinawa, Japan, Camp Pendleton, California, and South Korea. Following his service Sweeten worked in the information technology industry. Good Luck David, and Congratulations on being MCNs ‘Veteran of the Week’.
