As Christmas in Historic Montgomery nears on December 13th, with the Holiday Marketplace – Arts & Crafts fair, the annual Christmas Parade, the 35th Annual Cookie Walk, and the 48th Candlelight Home Tour; the Montgomery Historical Society readied itself by decorating the N.H. Davis Museum this past Saturday. Scoutmaster Mat Wilson, from Troop 351 in Montgomery, and a small group of his Scouts, spent time with MHS Board Members in decorating the museum making it look presentable for December festivities. This was the third year that the scouts have helped with the decorations, and their help is always appreciated.
As the decoration activities ended, Rebecca Noriega, from the Lone Star Art Gallery across the street from the museum, donated a watercolor of the N.H. Davis Museum, from the gallery she owns with her husband Anthony. The piece was completed by Montgomery artist Gwen Dean, one of the artists who displays pieces in the gallery on occasion.
Also upcoming this week is ‘Light Up the Park’ on Saturday, December 6th, at Cedar Brake Park from 6-8pm.
