At the March 24 regular board meeting, Montgomery ISD announced the hiring of multiple new faculty. That includes Sid Chacon, MISD’s new director of maintenance; Cale Melton, Lake Creek High School’s new athletic coordinator and head football coach; and Montgomery Junior High Principal Tim Chesser.

Sid Chacon previously served in Conroe ISD as the administrative maintenance coordinator of compliance, and has over two decades of experience in maintenance and facilities management, MISD Chief Facilities & Operations Officer Brad Mansfield said. Chacon is a Montgomery local and has two children who currently attend MISD schools.
“Sid is process-oriented and brings a wealth of experience with technology integration, including developing systems to track preventive maintenance for the district’s equipment and digitizing inspections, insurance claims and door audit reports,” Mansfield said.
The new Lake Creek High School head football coach, Cale Melton, has 22 years of experience in athletics, working as a head coach and defensive coordinator. As head coach of the Kingwood football program, he reached the regional finals in 2024, and as the Highland Park High School defensive coordinator, Melton won three consecutive state championships, according to a news release.
“I am incredibly excited for the opportunity to join Lake Creek High School and Montgomery ISD,” Melton said. “This is a special community with a strong tradition of excellence. I look forward to building meaningful relationships with our student-athletes, coaches, and families, and continuing to build upon the success that is already here.”
For the past two years, Tim Chesser has served as associate principal at Montgomery High School, according to a news release. Now, with 17 years of leadership experience, the MISD board placed him as the new principal of Montgomery Junior High School.
“I look forward to working alongside our outstanding staff, building strong relationships with our students and families, and continuing the proud tradition that makes MJH such a special place,” Chesser said via news release.
