Three candidates are running for Conroe City Council Place 4 in the May 2 election. Incumbent Howard Wood is not seeking reelection.
Early voting begins April 20 and runs through April 28, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website. Election day is May 2. In Montgomery County, voters can cast their ballot at any polling location during early voting. However, on election day, voters must vote at their designated voting precincts. Why did you decide to run in this election?
I decided to run because I care deeply about Conroe and the people who live and work here. I’ve spoken with many residents, small business owners, and first responders who feel unheard. With Conroe growing quickly, we need leadership that listens, supports public safety, and puts citizens first.
What is your top priority, if elected?
My top priority is keeping Conroe safe and strong. That means supporting our police and fire departments with the resources and compensation they need, while also ensuring our small businesses can succeed. Public safety and a healthy local economy are both essential to a thriving community.
What do you think are the two biggest challenges facing Conroe?
Managing rapid growth while maintaining quality of life is a major challenge. Infrastructure, traffic, and services must keep pace with development. Another challenge is keeping our public safety departments strong by ensuring competitive pay and staffing so we can recruit and retain experienced professionals.
How would you approach Conroe’s growth and development?
Growth should benefit the people who already live here. That means responsible planning, infrastructure that keeps pace with development, and including residents and local businesses in decisions. Development should strengthen our community while protecting neighborhood character and supporting small businesses.
What should Conroe’s budget priorities be?
Public safety should always be the top budget priority. We must ensure police, fire, and emergency services are properly staffed and equipped. The city should also prioritize infrastructure like roads and drainage while supporting policies that help small businesses grow and strengthen our local economy.
Why did you decide to run in this election?
At the 7/26/2025 town hall, numerous people for whom I had never met candidly shared the challenges that Conroe is experiencing. I saw and felt their desire for compassionate leadership and mutual consensus. With great reflection, I realized the divine calling I had to answer.
What is your top priority, if elected?
First and foremost, I will be elected to City Council on May 2nd. Once sworn in, I will methodically collaborate with stakeholders, employees, and the public to hear their prioritized goals. Together we will examine the requirements, constraints, and methodologies to create draft policies and procedures for city council.
What do you think are the two biggest challenges facing Conroe?
Excessive tax liabilities on our community, like that of the Hyatt must be firmly addressed and mitigated. Equally, people are justifiably mad and want a selfless leader like me who is independent from external influencers, firm but fair, respectful, forward-thinking, and compassionate to others when making decisions.
How would you approach Conroe’s growth and development?
With advisement from developers, businesses leaders, citizens, and other stake holders we will assess the city’s future growth patterns, projections, development issues, available resources, contractual obligations to create a clearer forecast model for the development of a comprehensive plan to meet desired future conditions.
What should Conroe’s budget priorities be?
Most politicians will talk about a fictious pain point as a budget priority. But as a businessman, I understand realistic budget priorities are made with care, due diligence, and consensus. Therefore, I will be genuine and honest to having no bias towards a priority.

Implement a team to review and ensure transparency, to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely,” or “to hold the administration accountable.” The Hyatt hotel, conduct a rigorous audit, restructure the debt, and implement operational efficiencies to ensure long-term sustainability while protecting our city’s taxpayers’ financial interests. What do you think are the two biggest challenges facing Conroe?
Conroe faces two primary challenges: managing rapid population growth while maintaining essential infrastructure, and ensuring long-term fiscal stability. Balancing rising service demands with budget constraints—including debt obligations from major municipal projects—is critical for the city’s sustainable development and protecting the financial interests of its taxpayers.
How would you approach Conroe’s growth and development?
Conroe’s focus should improve on water and road infrastructure. Implement more state & federal grants. Attract consumers & revitalize downtown Conroe development, including supporting small businesses and implement fair tier permit fee for events. Improve and bolster the operational framework of CEDC and CIDC.
What should Conroe’s budget priorities be?
Implement public workshops, planning commissions, for residents to have input in what they value most. Citizen agenda input to start at the beginning of Conroe council Meetings. Review and put in place financial transparency, strategic modeling and capital improvement plans. Police and first responders should have qualified pay and resources.
