Early voting begins April 20 and runs through April 28, according to the Texas Secretary of State’s website. Election day is May 2. In Montgomery County, voters can cast their ballot at any polling location during early voting. However, on election day, voters must vote at their designated voting precincts. Why did you decide to run in this election?
I decided to run for re-election as a long time resident to give input from the past to best plan for our future.
What is your top priority, if elected?
My top priority is Community first. To balance the Historic charm of the city, while balancing the growth and future infrastructure.
What do you think are the two biggest challenges facing the city of Montgomery?
Our two biggest challenges facing the city would be aging infrastructure and the rapid rate of growth. Balancing aging infrastructure with new growth and a small town means honoring what’s already built while preparing wisely for what’s coming next.
How would you approach Montgomery’s growth and development?
To grow our beloved city responsibly, reinvest locally, and build for the future, without neglecting our foundation of Texas history and small town charm.
What should Montgomery’s budget priorities be?
Budget priorities should focus on protecting core services, strengthening infrastructure and preserving community character.
Why did you decide to run in this election?
I know I can contribute to make Montgomery an exceptional place to live. I have seen how infrastructure neglect and, poor financial stewardship affects our community. I refuse to accept status quo when real solutions are within reach through practical common sense policies that put Montgomery ciitzens and businesses first.
What is your top priority, if elected?
Revitalize downtown and support small business by putting tax dollars to work. No more continuing to expand their real estate footprint. No tax breaks for big box stores. Restore trust in government through transparency, fiscal responsibilty and putting personality conflicts aside to solve real problems.
What do you think are the two biggest challenges facing the city of Montgomery?
The two most complex challenges that the City of Montgomery is facing is implementing smart growth strategy and the long term neglect of infrastructure.
How would you approach Montgomery’s growth and development?
Implement a long term growth growth strategy to achieve short teer, goals.
What should Montgomery’s budget priorities be?
Evaluate critical needs, Improvement of current infrastructure, Restore MEDC funding, stop buying real estate and sitting on it.
