To the delight of the Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter, they were the highest number of Chapter Attendees out of the Nine Chapters in their Texas Division District 111 Annual Meeting. This year the Host Chapter, The L. S. Ross Chapter held it in Bryan, Texas, at the Phillips Event Center, and over 40 were in attendance. All Chapters bring their treasurers for Silent Auction and RJOA ELAINE COLLINGS Won the Highest Silent Auction Bid for the Prized Antique Print from: The Atlas to Accompany the Official Records of the Union and Confederate Armies as a massive, multi-volume collection of maps, plans, and illustrations published by the U.S. Government Printing Office between 1891 and 1895, which served as a visual companion to the Official Records of the War Between the States. It features detailed military maps, topographical charts, and images of battlefields, fortifications, and troop movements, drawn from original wartime documents , providing an essential resource for studying the American Civil War. “This treasured Print” was the centerfold of that Atlas, and was donated by ANNE CARTER from her Family’s Collection. Many Thanks to ANNE CARTER of Montgomery, Texas for her generous Donation, and to the current winner, ELAINE COLLINGS, who plans to use it for Display in History and Education Events done by her Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter, United Daughters of the Confederacy.
Other RJOA Silent Auction Winners included LYN HOWARD, CHARLOTTE BELIN, and ANITA STEVENS.
CONGRATULATIONS to all RJOA Bidders and Winners, with special Thanks to all the Chapters for their chapter’s contributions. The District 111 voted that all the proceeds would go towards the District 111 Texas Division Convention Fund for District 111 needs and preparations.
The Texas Division President Gina Smith, and two Candidates in the next TX Div. UDC Elections, for the next Texas Division President: Sheran Weible, and Tina McCann, were Guests of the District 111, and each greeted our District 111 Members with their speech. The Meeting was conducted by District 111 Chairman Emily Allen, who called on each Chapter President to present her Annual Report for her Chapter. THIS IS EXPECTED of ALL CHAPTER PRESIDENTS.
It was obvious that RJOA PRESIDENT JENNY LEHR spent time organizing the wonderful accomplishments that her Chapter has achieved since the last District 111 Meeting.
The Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter contribute volunteers to their District 111 in many Ways.
On the District 111 Nominating Committee RJOA ANITA STEVENS served. RJOA EVELYN MILLER who was the last Term’s District 111 Treasurer, was elected again to another Term! GREAT JOB EVELYN MILLER! She will serve in good Company with Chairman: Cindy Davis, VP: Jane Ranck, and Secretary: Clara Malak. District 111 is in “Good Hands”.
Rebel Joan Of Arc Members also gave service on the Financial Review Committee, and RJOA MARY LEE MALEK volunteered her time for that also. All these members of RJOA already hold important Officer positions in their Chapter, so they continue to go “Above and Beyond”. The District 111 Verifying Committee for the upcoming Elections included RJOA ANITA STEVENS amongst other members of other Chapters. District 111 Members Endorsed RJOA PRESIDENT JENNY LEHR to run for TX. Division 3rd VP (Children of the Confederacy), which was another proud moment for the Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter. Then when it came time for the Committee to verify the Approval of the District 111 Minutes to the Members, it was RJOA ANITA STEVENS once again who stepped up and volunteered.
RJOA also were big winners in Door Prizes! The Host Chapter was gracious and abundant with Door Prizes and RJOA KATHERINE TALIENTI, ANITA STEVENS, and ELAINE COLLINGS had winning numbers!
A Memorial Roll Call was held for any Chapter in District 111 who lost deceased members from their Chapter this past year, and RJOA was pleased to have retained all theirs, while they grieve for the other Chapters who lost members due to death.
