During a recent visit to family cemetery in Van Alystyne, TX sisters, Dianne Taylor-Kebodeaux and Donna Summers of Rebel Joan of Arc Chapter 2721 recognized the marker of Dr. Joseph Greer. Dr. Greer Served in the 34th Alabama Infantry from April 1862 to 1865. Joseph Wayne Greer was Born April 17, 1844 Chambers County Alabama and died February 19, 1908 in Alvin, TX Brazoria County. He was buried in Van Alstyne, Grayson County, Texas.
After the Civil war, he entered the Medical Department of the University of Louisiana (Now Tulane University of New Orleans) and received his Medical Degree in 1869.
