RJOA CALDWELL AND RJOA COLLINGS TRAVEL TO McALLEN, FOR RE-DEDICATION OF VETERANS WAR MEMORIAL OF TEXAS!
Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy has many dedicated members to Honoring our Veterans, and two members traveled to South Texas for the Re-Dedication of the fabulous Veterans War Memorial, in McAllen, Texas. This twelve year endeavor is a magnificent gift to not only McAllen Texas, the Rio Grande Valley, but the Great State of Texas for Veterans of ALL Wars!
The Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721, of the UDC, VIZI LANGE CALDWELL, along with RJOA ELAINE HAMLIN COLLINGS proudly stand with *Retired Colonel Frank Plummer* of McAllen, who is 101 years old, and served in the US Army for 32 years with multiples of Honors and Awards. He served in World War 11, Korea, and Vietnam, as well as other situations. Colonel Plummer has “Given Service” All his Life!
This year we are honoring the Patriotic 250 Year Anniversary of the Founding of America. This magnificent Veterans War Memorial Park founded by Colonel Plummer, with the help of many patriots, have established six double-sided granite walls of all our wars and magnificent Statues throughout the Park of the Founders of the United States. The Park is located on 3129 Galveston Ave, McAllen, Texas, 78501.
This was a very special adventure that included drive-by touring of the McAllen Historical sites, Kings Ranch Store and Kings Ranch Entrance Sights in Kingsville, Texas, dining at the famous King’s Inn on Baffin Bay – where we surprisingly met other “Montgomery-ites”, , AND Thanking our Border Patrol for keeping us safe as we went through their/our check points. WE Americans owe our Border Patrol and their families so much Appreciation for what they do for us. Just say “THANK YOU”!
This was Truly a Patriotic and Historical Trip in soooo many ways, that also included wild exotic animals-but that’s another story….
There is No-Place like the “Magical Rio Grande Valley”!
