The Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, traveled on April Confederate Field Trip to the Brazos Valley Veterans Memorial Park, and did the outdoor touring of ALL the various American wars on display before the rain started! They were well prepared with rain gear, as all good Southern Ladies are, and including wearing of their RJOA Name Badges for identification of their group. Some Name Badges were still on rain coats!
This Park is marvelous, and has acres for strolling and reading of period history plaques and seeing life size sculptures of that period that they portray. RJOA Veterans Chairman: CYNTHIA CONNOR set up the Field Trip, and President: JENNY LEHR arranged the lunch location after, where we even celebrated with Drinks the “AMERICAN TRIP AROUND THE MOON” in honor of UDC’s PIONEERS IN SPACE, which President LEHR severs on. All Americans had been glued to their TV’s watching another 1st for America! The Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter has been the 1st for many Texas Division UDC accomplishments as well, so this is in their RJOA pride to CELEBRATE!
This was also the perfect occasion for Registrar: MARY LEE MALEK to arrange the “SIGNING PARTY for LYN DAWE GREY’S” Application into the United Daughters of the Confederacy. LYN GREY’S Ancestor for UDC Qualification with all that Family’s “Proofs” is: Pryor Lea, Company A, 29th Brigade, Texas Reserve Corps. CSA.
LYN G. Also learned that her Ancestor Pryor Lea was one of the Signers for Texas to Succeed from the Union, and for our States Rights! What a special find!!
This special ceremony was held in the section of the Park of the “War Between the States”, and this Photo shows Confederate Descendant: LYN GREY with folder and Application in hand, Signing her Application”, and with a *Statue of a Yankee Soldier* behind her! The period split rail fence behind – designated that Civil War section of the Park.
These brave Rebel Joan Of Arc Belles continue to honor their Family Ancestors and Proud Heritage wherever they go!
~ What a Special Day for LYN GREY and all her Rebel Joan Of Arc Sisters to share with her!
Thank You to RJOA REGISTRAR: MARY LEE MALEK for her diligent research,
and to LYN GREY for “Answering the Call”….
~Thank You to Veterans Chairman CYNTHIA CONNOR and President JENNY LEHR, from ALL the Rebel Joan Of Arc Sisters who were Blessed by this Field Trip day together….
