Rotary Club organizations all over the world transitioned leadership consisting of officers and board members for the fiscal year ending June 30 to the new fiscal year starting July 1.
The five Rotary Clubs in Montgomery located in Conroe, The Woodlands, Magnolia, Lake Conroe, and East Montgomery County along with the Rotaract Club consisting of young adults throughout Montgomery County begin a new series of service Projects while keeping monumental service projects like Polio Eradication continuing in operation.
The world has seen Polio removed from all nations across the world except Pakistan and Afghanistan. Those two counties have 33 new cases of Polio which is down from 350,000 cases of Polio worldwide in the 1980’s. This multi-billion service project is a collaborative effort of Rotary International along with organizations like the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, World Health Organization, and various governments. It is good to stretch yourself to attain such a worthy goal!
Locally, Rotary Clubs are planning fund raisers for a variety of local service projects dealing with education and service in our communities. Scholarships are being planned for graduating Seniors in May 2027. Publication and distribution of “I Like Me” books are being planned for dissemination in May 2027. Many Rotary Clubs also work directly with schools by adding books to libraries and helping with school academic extra-curricular activities like robotics programs.
Rotarians know that by serving that one attains an inter peace and the knowledge that the world is a better place with the service of Rotarians worldwide.
