The Rotary Club of Conroe is continuing its tradition of their Annual Pancake Supper. Rotarians will be out selling tickets for $25 for Adults for the Pancake Supper to be held on Thursday, April 23rd.
The event will be held at Honor Café which is a restaurant within a military museum. This family-oriented event raises funds that the Rotary Club of Conroe uses to support its youth programs, including its scholarship programs at two local high schools. This fun event is not your typical fund raiser and should include face painting for the kids and optional for adults. Celebrity waiters will add to the festive fun. I enjoy the competitiveness of those silent auctions where you can find that something you always wanted. That Thursday evening pancake supper is the perfect agenda for your school age kids to have fun with Mom and Dad while getting a meal to support the youth of our community. It is a WIN – WIN situation!

Founded in 1971, Boys and Girls Country is a licensed residential home serving children ages 5–18 and young adults 18 and older.
Children live on campus in cottages with trained house parents, attend local public schools, and experience family-style living in a trauma-informed, nurturing environment that supports their physical, emotional, and spiritual growth. Sleight also highlighted the organization’s College and Career Program, which provides mentorship, financial support, and housing for young adults pursuing college, technical certifications, military service, or careers — ensuring they have continued guidance beyond high school graduation. Rotarians are very supportive of youth programs since the youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. If you need proof, attend a Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Camp. This weekend leadership camp known as RYLA takes promising Juniors from high schools across the area and instills leadership values to help grow the youth into tomorrow leaders. It promotes the concept that leaders elevate others to become a better team, using the acronym TEAM which means Together Everyone Achieves More! Building others up is a true sign of leadership! Another leadership building exercise among high schoolers are the various Interact Clubs sponsored by Rotarians at almost ALL of the high schools in Montgomery County. Rotarians and school sponsors are there to guide elected leaders in implementing service projects in our communities. Elections will take place next month for next school year leaders with a leadership camp at Lone Star College in August, just before school begins.
