On a bright, blue sky, sun-filled day, members of the Thomas Jefferson Stubbs 2523, Conroe Chapter of the Texas Division, United Daughters of the Confederacy, met on December 6, 2025 for their annual Christmas luncheon and meeting. The ladies gathered at the brand new home of their chapter president, Beckie Endebrock. The house was beautifully decorated in “everything” Christmas.
In fact, as you walked in to one of the rooms, you heard “hey, what are you doing in here” or “come back when you can stay longer”. It was a battery powered reindeer, making all sorts of comments, much to everyones happy surprise.
The table was loaded with all sorts of delicious food items. There was wassail and Arnold Palmer tea to drink and to everyones delight a tasty Stollen cake graced the table. As an added dessert, an old Alabama family recipe was made up and fudge was on the table.
But what is a Christmas luncheon without having the playful “white elephant” game. There was a alot of laughter over different gifts happened and comments hoping something wasn’t stolen. Two items gained much interest by everyone, a homemade baked pecan pie made by Carolyn Jamail and a beautiful two tiered serving dish. There were door prizes given out and our host and her daughter Michele Scanlin, made personal ornaments with the members’ name on it, they were all beautiful.
The membership welcomed Virginia Young, a perspective member to the meeting, to which we all learned about her ancestor.
