The Houston Texans in the Post Season Beating the LA Charger 20-16

It
started off with a bang, C.J. Stroud threw four (4) completions on four (4)
attempts for two (2) touchdowns in the first quarter to lead his team against a
formidable opponent, the (11-5) Los Angeles Chargers 14-0. However, through the
thick and the thin, and the ebb and flow of a highly contested game, the
Houston Texans not only won the game 20-16, but are going to the playoffs for
the third year in a row under the leadership of Head Coach DeMeco Ryans.

Texans’
quarterback C.J. Stroud got the job done with sixteen (16) completions on
twenty-eight (28) attempts for two hundred and forty-four (244) yards with two
(2) touchdowns and two (2) interceptions. The offensive unit were dynamic in
the first quarter but went back into first gear for the remaining three (3)
quarters. The running duo of Marks and Jordon combined for one hundred and
seven (107) yards. Wide receiver Jayden Higgins looked impressive with his
perfect catch and sprint for a seventy-five (75) yard touchdown. Stroud hit
seven (7) different receivers in the game. It was Henry To’o To’o’s day with
his best of five (5) solo tackles and seven (7) assists. The team got their
eight straight victory off the foot of Ka’imi Fairbairn who went two (2) for
(2) and connect on all his extra points along with punter Tommy Townsend who
nailed a fifty (50) yard punt pinning the Chargers deep in their territory.

The good news is that the Texans have
clinched a playoff berth, however, the NFL has not given the team their seeding
for the playoffs. The AFC
South division title is still
up for grabs depending on the games played this coming weekend. This might be a
suitable time to start cheering on the Titans to beat the Jaguars. As the team
goes into the playoffs, I want to take a few minutes and share with the fans
some insights into the strengths and the challenges for the Houston Texans.
Starting with their Strength: Defense. The Houston Texans have one of the best defenses in the NFL. The Texans have the
number one (1) scoring defense in the league. The team has allowed just over
sixteen (16.6) points per game.

Congratulations to the following players who were selected for the Pro
Bowl:

• Will Anderson
  Jr.
• Derek Stingley
  Jr.
• Azeez Al‑Shaair.

The talented C.J. Stroud returned
after a concussion and has emerged as an elite quarterback. He has stabilized
the offense and inspired his teammates.

The team does have some weaknesses
such as slow starts, and inconsistence this season from the offense, especially
in the red zone. Their offensive line has improved but is not stable and
penalties still plagued the team.

In other AFC South Division play,
the Jacksonville Jaguars defeated the Indianapolis Colts 23-17, and the (3-13)
Tennessee Titans dropped another one against the New Orleans Saint 34-26.

Texans as they host the last game of the season against their divisional rivals
