The Players Theatre Company proudly announces its 60th Anniversary Season for 2026–27, titled Legacy & Revelations, a landmark year celebrating six decades of artistic excellence while boldly embracing the future of theatre.
The season honors the company’s rich history with beloved classics and powerful contemporary works, inviting audiences to reflect, celebrate, and discover a new way of seeing the world. Alongside a dynamic mainstage lineup, The Players Theatre Company will introduce expanded educational and artistic initiatives designed to cultivate the next generation of theatre-makers and deepen community engagement.

The Mountaintop
January 15–31, 2027
A powerful, intimate imagining of the final night of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., blending history, humanity, and hope.
Come From Away
February 26–March 14, 2027
The Tony Award–winning musical that tells the true story of kindness and connection in the wake of 9/11.
Nunsense
April 9–25, 2027
A beloved musical farce filled with irreverent humor, heart, and heavenly harmonies in which the Little Sisters of Hoboken attempt to raise money after a kitchen mishap.
Forever Plaid

A joyous, nostalgic celebration of harmony and hope about four singers from the 1950’s who get one last chance to perform.
New Artistic & Educational Initiatives
As part of its 60th anniversary vision, The Players Theatre Company is expanding its mission beyond the stage with a suite of new offerings:
• Play writing Workshop Series — nurturing emerging and experienced writers
• 10-Minute Play Festival — showcasing bold new voices and short-form storytelling
• The Players Studio — a new training and creative hub
• Youth & Adult Education Programs — instruction in acting, movement, voice, and backstage skills
• The Penguin Project- a unique program that provides an opportunity for children with special needs to participate in a unique theatrical experience and an outlet for revealing their creativity and talents.
• Weekend Workshops & Master Classes — led by theatre professionals from across the industry
These initiatives reinforce The Players Theatre Company’s long-standing commitment to education, access, and artistic growth within the Greater Houston theatre community.

The Players Theatre Company began in 1967 as The Little Theatre of Conroe utilizing the Conroe High School stage and later a refurbished plumbing supply store at the corner of Galveston and Robertson Streets. After helping to restore the historic Crighton Theatre in 1979, the group produced shows there for nearly 30 years as The Crighton Players. In 2008, in partnership with the City of Conroe, The Players Theatre Company was formed and moved to their current residence at The Owen Theatre.
