When caring for an aging loved one, questions can quickly pile up. Is that forgetfulness normal? Should blood pressure be monitored more closely? What support is available if care needs increase?

At The Auberge at Vintage Park, organizers said an amazing health fair doesn’t just hand out brochures; it empowers families with answers.

Feb. 27, the memory care community hosted its annual health fair, centered on a clear theme: empowering the community to wellness. The event brought together families, caregivers and local providers for a day of education, screenings and open conversation about aging and dementia.

“We host health fairs so that we can educate and inform our community on what they should be concerned with when dealing with their relatives with dementia,” Sales and Marketing Director Karen Sims said. “If they have health concerns, we want to educate them on what they need.”

Education without a doctor’s visit

This year’s event featured 12 tables staffed by local health providers, offering visitors the opportunity to ask questions and gather information they might otherwise only receive during a doctor’s appointment.

Attendees were able to receive onsite screenings and connected directly with experts in areas affecting older adults.

Available screenings and services included:

  • Blood pressure checks
  • Diabetes screenings
  • Information on hospice care
  • Home health resources
  • Memory care education
  • Guidance on aging-related health topics

From understanding dementia warning signs to managing chronic conditions, the goal was clarity.

For many families, access makes all the difference. Health fairs provide a low-pressure environment for caregivers to explore options, compare resources and understand next steps.

Supporting families navigating dementia

While the fair was open to the community, dementia education remained central to the mission.

As a dedicated memory care community, The Auberge at Vintage Park works with families navigating the emotional and practical realities of cognitive decline. Sims said proactive education helps families feel more confident and less overwhelmed.

By bringing together medical professionals, aging specialists and care providers, the event created a hub of reliable information. Organizers believe knowledge builds trust—and that families feel more comfortable partnering with communities that understand complex medical needs.

Take control of your health

Whether caring for a loved one or planning ahead, The Auberge at Vintage Park’s health fairs meet people where they are—offering guidance, reassurance and practical next steps.

Though this year’s event has passed, The Auberge at Vintage Park plans to continue hosting educational opportunities for families and caregivers. Community members can follow the community’s Facebook page for future updates.
