Rebel Joan Of Arc 2721 Chapter Members and their families, of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, gathered together for a Special Presentation to MONTE WEST and MONTGOMERY COUNTY NEWS for the MCNews continued support of Texas History, and this philanthropic ladies genealogy lineage group of the RJOA and all their endeavors of contributing to Montgomery County, and Texas History.
The Ladies of Rebel Joan Of Arc and their Families surprised Owner of MCNews with Speeches of Appreciation from RJOA PRESIDENT JENNY LEHR, a delicious Battle Flag Cake by baker extraordinaire RJOA PAIGE LEHR WINNINGHAM on behalf of her Chapter, and RJOA CHAPLAIN LYN HOWARD on behalf of her chapter then presented a Basket of Texas Goodies, – everything made in the Great State of TEXAS!
On this happy Sunday afternoon, after church, all met at the Fernland Historical Park in Montgomery, Texas, in Honor of “April Is Confederate History Month”, and to visit the old historical homes preserved there. Since its dedication in 2012 Fernland’s historic log homes, examples of mid-nineteenth century architecture, numerous artifacts and explanatory panels together create a uniquely enjoyable attraction and learning experience. Fernland Historical Park is a City of Montgomery public park open to the public. Docents staff the park Tuesday through Saturday from 9 a.m.
until 3 p.m., and from noon until 4 p.m. on Sunday to conduct tours and answer questions. They are most helpful and dedicated to this important education for preserving our community history. After the Rebel Joan Of Arc Chapter lovely presentation to MONTE WEST, and all the visiting and touring, the entire group of RJOA went just down the street to Ransom’s Steak House & Saloon and continued their afternoon together for several more hours before the rains hit. “April Showers Bring May Flowers”, and Blue Bonnets already everywhere.
