Three Truly is a Magic Number

This past Sunday the 26^th, the Anglers from the
MISD Fishing Team were able to put a bowtie on the Fall Season of the Texas
High School Bass Association Houston Division by claiming their third victory
in as many tournaments this Fall. This victory places the Team firmly in First
Place in the Division, until the season will resume in the Spring. It will be
there that the Team will continue on its’ goal of going undefeated for the Season.

An outstanding effort was turned in by the current number
one Team for MISD, Jacob Riley and Brenner Kirklin, as they claimed First Place
out of 166 Individual Teams from 19 area High Schools. Their five fish limit of
21.42 pounds blew away the competition, easily earning them the Individual honors.

When pressed, their Captain Jason Riley divulged that Jacob
and Brenner did extremely well on capitalizing on their bites over deep
structure, with deep crankbaits doing most of the damage. He also indicated
that the old standby shaky head was a good bait choice as well.

The second highest placing Team for MISD was Kason Cryer and
Landon Wedgeworth, bringing in a nice five fish limit of their own, weighing
14.21 pounds. This finish put them in Fourth Place, narrowly missing the podium
by being in the top three.

Coming in 17^th place and helping MISD secure the
victory with the top three Teams from MISD having a total weight of 43.09, were
Brooks Gerner and Zachary Smith. The pair had two fish that weighed 7.46 pounds,
helping the MISD Fishing Team claim their third victory in as many tournaments,
where “Three Truly is a Magic Number.”
