Willis ISD trustees on Feb. 11 approved the district’s 2026-27 school year calendar as well as the principal for Ruth Castleschouldt Elementary School, opening in August.

Chastity Simon was named as the first principal of Ruth Castleschouldt Elementary School. Simon currently serves as associate principal and dean of instruction at Brabham Middle School, the district said in a news release.
“I am deeply honored to be named the principal of Ruth Castleschouldt,” Simon said. “As we open a brand-new elementary school together, I look forward to partnering with our families, students and staff to establish a strong, purposeful school community where all students feel safe, valued and supported, and where high-quality learning is at the heart of everything we do.”
The new school is part of the district’s $143 million 2022 bond and is set to open in August to serve grades K-5, as previously reported by Community Impact. The campus is located at 8150 MP Clark Road in Conroe.

The board also approved the 2026-27 academic calendar, with the first day of school Aug. 12 and the last day May 21.
