The Owen Theatre is an intimate soft seat venue that seats approximately 250 people and is home to The Players Theatre Company. This building was originally built in 1946 as the Weisinger Pontiac/GMC Dealership. It is owned by the City of Conroe and has been renovated to accommodate the production and presentation of live theatrical performances.

The Players Theatre Company began in 1967 as The Little Theatre of Conroe and produced shows on the Conroe High School stage and then in a former plumbing supply store at the corner of Galveston and Robertson Streets. In 1979 the group helped to clean and restore The Crighton Theatre where we operated for nearly 30 years as The Crighton Players. In 2008 we moved into our current residence at The Owen Theatre. We produce seven main stage productions each year at the Owen Theatre.

The theater is known for its vibrant and diverse programming, which includes a wide range of live performances, such as musicals, plays, concerts, and comedy shows. The theater also hosts educational programs and workshops for both children and adults, and is committed to fostering a love of the performing arts in the community.

The Owen Theatre is operated by the nonprofit organization, the Greater Conroe Arts Alliance, which is dedicated to promoting and supporting the arts in Conroe and the surrounding area. Thanks to the hard work of the Alliance and the support of the local community, the Owen Theatre has become a beloved institution and a cultural hub for the city of Conroe.

Love this vintage theatre!

It's a good space for community theater. The lobby is a little tight, but covered outside waiting area is available. The audience has space inside, but every seat feels close to the stage. The seats seemed especially low to the ground, so even with the gradual rise from the stage, I still had to hope that that tall person that came in late wasn't going to sit in front of me :) Good sound system.

A very nice local theater. I attended a children's production of Alice in Wonderland. It was a great production. All ages from 7 thru 17. They did a fantastic job 👏 👍 😀

Lovely little venue. Nostalgic and not a bad seat in the house. Only complaint is some seats are kind of stained and there’s a slightly musty smell, perhaps because it’s an older building. Overall, really great.

Happened to be in Conroe and went to see Jesus Christ SuperstarOn opening night. It was one of the most moving if not the most moving live performance I have ever been to. Well worth seeing. The music and band were unbelievable. If I lived closer I would definitely see it again.

There's not a bad seat in the house. The small setting is perfect for watching plays. Rumors was an excellent play.

Checked out a "Christmas Carol" with the wife for a date night. The Owen is a great lil place to watch a play. It's very laid back and the acting was great for a small town theater! We're going to buy season tickets!
